Dear pastor, friends, and praying church, July 16, 2026
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! The Children of Israel, in bondage in Egypt, cried out to God for deliverance. God sent Moses, who delivered them, but in their hearts, they wanted to go back to the bondage of Egypt. They constantly complained and chided with Moses, wanting to return. As believers we need to learn to live in the freedom we have in Christ. I am reminded of two verses: Galatians 4:9, “But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?” and Galatians 5:1, “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.”
We praise the Lord for the open doors to teach sign language at a sister church. We have been able to take two of our interpreters and some of the deaf to help teach these people sign language. Please keep us in prayer as we reach out to deaf people in Angeles City. This city has a reputation of being “sin city”. We know there are many deaf Filipinos in this town.
We praise the Lord for many sweet victories. Here are some pictures from three separate homes in which we were able to give a clear, yet simple presentation of the gospel. Please be praying for their comprehension of God’s simple plan of salvation using the John/Romans we had shipped to the Philippines. Many of these people will bring their John/Romans back the next week to hear another lesson from either the book of John or Romans. In the first picture (seated to my right) is Lilian, who has cancer, and her granddaughter, Carla. In the second picture (seated across the room) is Jeremias and his wife, Liezel. Seated next to my wife and me is Preacher Kevin, one of our graduates. In the third picture is a young lady named “Gurly”. In English we would pronounce it “girly”. Please be in prayer for one of our outreaches as we consider renting a house for this graduate to start holding Sunday services on a weekly basis.

We look forward to our youngest daughter’s upcoming wedding in Indianapolis. She and a fine Christian young man just got engaged. We will return at the end of October for a December wedding, then return to the Philippines in January 2027. This furlough trip will be short and I don’t expect to be able to visit all our supporting churches, but if you would like us to come, please let me know.
